Getting started
Submit your first release
The four steps from a new release to live in stores.
Updated October 6, 2026
Releases are created in Catalog → New release, in four steps. Partners can create a release on behalf of any artist or label on their account.
1. Details
Title, primary artist, label, release date, genre and territories. See the Metadata style guide.
2. Artwork
Upload the cover as JPG or PNG, at least 3000 × 3000 px. See Artwork requirements.
3. Tracks
Upload each master as WAV or FLAC. The workspace reads the sample rate, bit depth and channels from the file, so you can see straight away if something isn’t right. Add track-level metadata and credits — credits belong on the track (the recording), not on the release.
4. Review and submit
Check the summary and submit. On submit, every master is checked against a copyright database. Then our team reviews the release.
Release statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Still being edited, not submitted |
| Pending | Submitted, waiting for review |
| Approved | Passed review, scheduled for delivery |
| Rejected | Needs a fix — the reason is shown; edit and resubmit |
| Live | Delivered to stores |
| Archived | Removed from the active catalog |
You get a notification in the workspace as soon as a decision is made. Stores process deliveries at their own pace — see Planning your release date.
